Job Summary:
Good Samaritan University Hospital, a 537-bed teaching hospital and part of Catholic Health, is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Pediatric Intensivist to join its growing Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). This role involves providing critical care services for acutely ill pediatric patients, supervising pediatric residents, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality, evidence-based patient care.
This is an opportunity to work in a Level II Trauma Center with a 6-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, offering cutting-edge treatments, research participation, and teaching opportunities with academic appointment consideration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including pediatric specialists, nurses, respiratory therapists, and residents.
- Supervise and train pediatric residents and medical students during their critical care rotations.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, research, and clinical education.
- Communicate effectively with families regarding patient care plans and treatment options.
- Assist in the development of protocols to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Contribute to hospital-wide pediatric emergency response efforts.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine.
- Eligible for New York State Medical License.
- Experience in managing critically ill pediatric patients preferred.
- Strong leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.
- Passion for teaching and mentoring residents and medical students.
