Job Details
Responsibilities:
- Completes the patient registration process and assists outpatients with preparation for laboratory testing.
- Expedites the flow of specimens from receipt in laboratory to delivery to performing departments/laboratories.
- Performs specimen and report processing for test requests that are performed at reference laboratories.
- Responsible for answering telephones and processing requests for patient reports.
- Performs scanning and verification of laboratory reports into patient’s EMR.
- Performs additional duties as requested by immediate supervisors
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalency required
- General computer skills required.
- Office/clerical skills desirable.
- Excellent verbal and listening skills required for communicating clearly and effectively with laboratory staff, patients, families, physicians, outside agencies and other hospital staff.
- Minimum 2-3 years previous clerical experience in a health care setting preferred.
Salary Range
USD $17.81 - USD $26.72 /Hr.
This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
