What You'll Do
As an Emergency Department Tech II, you will:
- Assist in direct patient care by taking vital signs, performing wound care, applying splints, and supporting emergency procedures like CPR and airway management.
- Support triage operations by helping assess patient conditions and ensuring the flow of information between patients and medical staff.
- Assist physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals with procedures and emergency interventions.
- Collect blood, urine, and other specimens for testing, and ensure they are handled properly.
- Ensure that medical equipment and supplies are clean, stocked, and ready for use.
- Transport patients to different areas of the hospital for tests and diagnostics.
- Accurately document patient interactions and care provided, maintaining organized medical records.
- Contribute to the overall safety and efficiency of the emergency department through proactive teamwork and communication.
What You Bring
- Experience : A minimum of 1-2 years working in an emergency department, as an EMT, or in a similar healthcare setting.
- Certifications : Current certifications such as Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), and Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is preferred.
- Clinical Skills : Proficiency in basic emergency care techniques, including taking vitals, performing EKGs, phlebotomy, and administering first aid.
- Communication : Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients, their families, and the medical team.
- Adaptability : Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and stay calm in emergency situations.
- Physical Stamina : Ability to lift patients, stand for extended periods, and move swiftly through the department as needed.
