Seeking a Pre-Authorization Representative who will be responsible for timely and accurate pre-authorization and insurance verification.

What will you do in this role:

• Verify insurance benefits and determine pre-certification/authorization status for outpatient services via online or other resources. If pre-certification/authorization is required and has not been obtained, initiate via on-line or phone call. Enter all information and authorization/referral numbers into the registration system.
• Work all orders from the tracking board, utilizing Altera and payor portals to confirm authorization.
• Pull a daily Excel report and filter for department to get list of scheduled services for the territory covered and update Altera.
• Utilize appropriate communication system to facilitate communication with insurance companies and occasionally patients.
• Contact physician offices to resolve issues regarding pre-authorization.

What qualifications you will need:

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• 1 year of related experience required
• Experience with health insurance strongly preferred
