Early Childhood Educational Director - St. Barnabas Elementary School Bronx, NY
Saint Barnabas Elementary School, a school in the Central Westchester region of the Archdiocese of New York, located the beautiful Woodlawn/Riverdale section of the Bronx, is seeking a NYS certified Early Childhood educator to serve in the role of Educational Director for our full-day, high-quality pre-K education program serving both 3year olds and 4year olds in the 2024-2025 school year.
The successful candidate will be committed to education, be an excellent promoter of the school, and insist on program excellence. The candidate must be a collaborative decision maker working with the school leadership, faculty, staff and parents in overseeing the instructional program. An innovative vision of education for the 21st century that includes knowledge of early childhood education and current teaching methodologies is critical to success. The EC Education Director serves as the main liaison with the NYC Division of Early Childhood's Instructional team and is responsible for overseeing all educational aspects of the program in compliance with contractual obligations with NY State and NY City where they apply.
Successful candidates must also demonstrate strengths in organizational leadership, data-driven decision-making, interpersonal relationships and communication, effective supervision of instruction and assessment and leading professional development. A dynamic leader that demonstrates professionalism, leadership skills, and organizational ability is desired for this position.
The Early Childhood Education Director must have the ability to relate well with children, parents, teachers, and the community at large, honor the rich traditions of the school and work collaboratively with the Principal, Regional Superintendent and the Archdiocesan Office of Early Childhood team to lead the program.

Core Roles/Responsibilities:
The Early Childhood Program Director serves as the Instructional Leader for the early childhood program in an ADNY elementary school. In this role he/she:
- Ensures program compliance with the ADNY and NYCDOE Policies and Procedures
- Ensures high quality implementation of the Creative Curriculum Program
- Ensures the implementation of Positive Behavior Guidance
- Supervises staff in providing a program that meets the varied needs of the children and families served by the program.
- Conducts daily walk-throughs, models best practices and provides formative feedback to staff
- Trains and coaches teaching staff to meet program standards
- Uses ECERS-3 and CLASS evaluations to plan for and implement ongoing program support
- Works with school Principal to evaluate staff performance
- Uses student and program assessment data to work with staff to meet the needs of all students
- Assists other staff members in timely completion of all paperwork relating to the program
Qualifications:
- Master of Education in Early Childhood, Early Childhood Special Education or a related field (REQUIRED)
- Current New York State Teaching Certification in Early Childhood or Childhood Teaching (REQUIRED)
- At least 5 years of experience as a teacher with classroom experience including 3 years of experience as a Lead Teacher in an Early Childhood classroom
- At least 2 years of program leadership experience preferred
- Experience working successfully in an inclusive and diverse work environment
- Willingness to participate in workshops and other ongoing professional development opportunities related to leading a high-quality early childhood program
- Proficient in the use of technology (social media, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, ability to learn various educational communication platforms)
- First Aid and CPR certification preferred
- Bilingual language skills preferred

- If offered the position, clearance in the NYC PETS system and compliance with all NYC DOH requirements and training will be required.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
