Cattaraugus/Allegany BOCES is seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to fill the role of Library Information Specialist. This position requires a strong understanding of educational technology and the ability to effectively communicate with students, teachers, and administrators.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide research assistance to students and maintain a comprehensive system for cataloguing media center materials.
- Evaluate and select books, aids, and other supplies, maintaining inventory records and coordinating with administrators.
- Develop and implement programs to promote literacy and a love of reading among students.
- Assist students and teachers with research and provide instruction on the proper use of media center resources.
- Maintain accurate records and provide student information as required.
Requirements
- New York State Certification as a Librarian or Library/Media Specialist.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment. Master's degree preferred.
