A highly skilled Radiologic Technologist, Staff provides diagnostic patient care services using ionizing radiation and related diagnostic procedures. With a strong foundation in radiology, this professional is qualified to perform a range of procedures, including radiographic examinations, electrocardiography (EKG), pacemaker checks, and holter monitoring examinations.
Job Functions:
- Perform Radiographic Examinations: Conduct radiographic examinations as ordered by attending physicians, adhering to established imaging protocols.
- Conduct Electrocardiography (EKG) Procedures: Perform EKG, pacemaker checks, and holter monitoring examinations as required by physicians.
- Adjust Technical Factors: Adjust kVP and mAs settings, as well as positioning, to obtain high-quality images based on patient conditions.
- Prepare Requisitions and Patient Histories: Prepare and verify requisitions, patient histories, and insurance information, and contact referring physicians when necessary.
- Coordinate Patient Care: Collaborate with other staff members to ensure proper patient care.
- Address Patient Care Issues: Resolve any patient care issues that arise during examinations.
- Schedule Daily Work: Organize daily work schedules and perform related clerical duties as needed.
- Maintain Radiation Safety: Follow ALARA principles for radiation safety and adhere to radiation safety requirements.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Oral Communication Skills: Effective communication skills to interact with patients, physicians, and colleagues.
- Written Communication Skills: Strong written communication skills to prepare reports and documentation.

Educational Requirements:
- Radiologic Technology Program: Graduate of a Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT)-accredited formal Radiologic Technology program.
- ARRT Certification: Active certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in relevant specialties.
- Licensure: Active licensure with individual state Department of Health if required by law.
