Assistant Director of Tourism
Cave City Tourism is looking for an enthusiastic person to help us in our overall marketing efforts and public relations. This individual must be able to work under pressure with the ability to meet deadlines. This position serves as the assistant to the Executive Director. The job will be a full-time position where weekly hours will vary and some weekends and travel will be required.
Duties for the Assistant Director:
- Assist in creating and implementing marketing activities by demonstrating expertise in content development, brand creative, advertising, and other areas as needed.
- Oversee the design and graphics of marketing materials and communication plans to positively impact tourism, and help distribute printed materials for tourism and events.
- Plan and execute initiatives to reach the target audience through appropriate channels such as promoting the tourism website, social media, email, tv, radio, and all marketing mediums to all audiences.
- Assist in analyzing marketing data to help shape future marketing strategies.
- Act as an Administrator on social media accounts, including Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, and others, also including a monthly newsletter.
- Assist with monitoring and creating content for all social media accounts.
- Keep the webpage updated, as well as the KY Department of Tourism webpage for Cave City.
- Attend monthly board meetings and may be asked to attend various meetings in the absence of the Executive Director or to assist the Director.
The Assistant Director should possess the following:

- Ability to lift 25 pounds from the floor to chest
- Ability to stand for long hours during events or conventions
- Valid driver’s license and ability to drive tourism vehicle
- Marketing degree preferred but not required

Standard office hours are Monday – Friday, 8am-4pm. Some tourism duties may require work outside of these days/hours.
