What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Industrial Technician - 2nd Shift position at Caviness Beef Packers?
This position will be responsible for maintaining the electrical integrity of all equipment at Caviness Beef Packers. The right applicant will have a vast understanding of electricity and lower voltage functions on equipment.
While performing the duties the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions with slippery surfaces at varied heights; moving mechanical parts; fast paced warm/cool environment. The employee must work with chemicals and solvents and have the ability to operate moving vehicles. Positions require standing or walking the entire shift, the use of stairs, and the use of PPE which is required in all areas of the facility. (Not an all-inclusive list)
RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties will include but are not limited to:
- May operate heavy machinery
- Use a variety of tools to repair, retrieve and maintain all equipment in working order
- Conduct daily set-up of area and troubleshoot
- Working around or with machinery and power sources such as electricity
- Ensuring safety, food safety, and quality
- Cleanliness and housekeeping
- Maintaining a safe working environment
- Collaborate with IT professionals to ensure system functionality Troubleshoot issues with both electrical and IT components
QUALIFICATIONS
- 2 years in industry experience or completion of certificate program required
- Strong understanding of electrical schematics
- Experience with multi-meters
- Knowledge of parameters and PLC's, circuit breakers, relays and electrical components
- Strong technical skills in electrical systems and wiring
- Good understanding of basic IT concepts and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of basic tools and maintenance related subjects
- Must have working knowledge of basic mechanics
- Good communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work well with a team
- Valid Driver's License required
- Must be able to work hours of 2:00pm to 12:00am, Monday through Saturday
