Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Equipment Operator with specialized knowledge of Title V septic systems and site work. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience operating a variety of heavy equipment, including an excavator, skid steer, and loader. This position requires someone who is not only skilled in machinery operation but also willing to contribute to physical labor at the job site when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, skid steers, loaders, and other machinery related to site work and Title V septic system installations and repairs.
- Assist in the excavation, grading, and backfilling of sites for septic system installation, maintenance, and repairs.
- Follow all safety procedures and regulations while operating equipment on construction sites.
- Work closely with project managers and crew to ensure job tasks are completed efficiently and within project timelines.
- Assist with the physical labor required on-site, including manual digging, lifting, and other tasks as necessary.
- Maintain equipment in good working condition by performing regular inspections and basic maintenance (e.g., checking fluids, cleaning, lubricating).
- Follow company protocols for reporting equipment issues or breakdowns.
- Collaborate with team members to complete site preparation for both residential and commercial projects.
- Understand and adhere to local, state, and federal regulations, particularly those related to Title V septic systems and environmental guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience operating heavy equipment, specifically in Title V septic and site work.
- Must possess a valid Hoisting License (2A-1C).
- Strong experience with excavators, skid steers, and loaders.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and site plans.
- Knowledge of Title V septic system regulations and installation processes.
- CDL license is preferred, but not required.
- Must be comfortable with physical labor and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Safety-conscious mindset with a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Reliable and dependable with a strong work ethic.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to sit for extended periods while operating machinery.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions (hot, cold, rainy, etc.).
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including digging and lifting, when necessary.
