Caymus Equity Partners LLC is an Atlanta-based private equity firm that specializes in the acquisition and development of U.S.-based lower-middle market companies with operating profits between $2 million and $12 million. The firm focuses on control transactions primarily within the business services sector, and is currently investing out of Caymus Equity Partners Fund II, L.P.
Caymus Equity is seeking to hire an Associate to support the investment team in all aspects of the investment process, including initial evaluation of investment opportunities, financial modeling, in-depth company and industry due diligence, and transaction execution. As part of a growing investment team, the Associate will work closely with senior professionals and assist with the ongoing management of portfolio companies, focusing his / her efforts on financial analysis and generating and presenting strategic insights. Associates are an integral member of Caymus Equity’s investment team and are active participants in all aspects of the investment and portfolio monitoring processes. The ideal candidate is expected to be a self-starter and must be able to multi-task, while consistently delivering accurate and timely work products.
Job Responsibilities
- Evaluating, researching, and modeling new investment opportunities
- Coordinating and conducting due diligence activities, including managing third-party diligence service providers and performing data-driven analyses
- Providing support on all aspects of transaction execution, including structuring and documentation
- Monitoring portfolio companies, including generating and presenting strategic insights and analyses
- Assisting in written communications with Limited Partners
Desired Skills and Experience
- 2 – 4 years of professional experience in investment banking, private equity, consulting, transaction advisory, or similar
- Significant knowledge of, and experience working with, financial statements
- Proficient in financial modeling (Excel) and presentation skills (PowerPoint)
- The ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, effectively and succinctly with a diverse range of constituents
- A four-year degree is required, preferably with substantial coursework / a concentration in finance, accounting, economics, or mathematics
