About the Program and Position:
This position is on our IT team, which is a support department that serves the home and community-based and foster care program staff throughout our regions. We serve our programs by providing them with the computer equipment and software they need to work with children and families. This MAKES A DIFFERENCE because when our program staff have what they need to serve families, the quality of their care improves. And the role you play in all this is providing timely and quality customer service to fellow staff members.
How you get to use your skills…
- Assist in the installation of computer hardware, software and other equipment
- Significant travel between Auburn and upstate NY locations
- Install, support, and maintain information systems and network software on a wide area network. This includes Windows 10 workstations and Microsoft Office 365
- Run and terminate infrastructure cabling between workstations and communication closets
- Build and maintain desktop images, deploy images and applications using multiple methodologies
- Maintain printers, copiers, and other peripherals as needed
- Perform off-hours maintenance as needed
- Monitor and maintain the agency Help Desk system
- Review, analyze, and recommend new technologies, upgrades to existing technologies, and enhancements to service on an ongoing basis
- Complete work orders as assigned in a professional and timely manner
- Participate in On-call rotation
- Attend required training, including reading required books
- Responsible for complying with HIPAA rules and regulations
- Perform other duties as requested by your immediate supervisor or leadership
Schedule:
- Regular hours are 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday
- Must be flexible to meet program needs
- On-call duties as assigned
Experience and Skills:
- High School diploma and one year of technical experience, including A and/or Network Certification or Associate Degree in Information Technology and/or demonstrated skills in the following areas:
- Support staff’s access to systems including, but not limited to:
- Software and hardware setup
- Security and password support
- Knowledge of internal and external computer components
- Basic networking skills
- Excellent and proven communication and human relations skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team context
- Valid Driver’s License
Physical Requirements :
- Lift 50 pounds
- Drive to agency locations
- Sit at a desk for up to 8 hours
- Get on the floor and reach behind equipment
- Climb a ladder
- Work in small spaces such as attics and basements
- Complete tasks by bending and squatting
- Walk up to 3 floors of stairs
- Walk up to ¼ mile between locations
- Sit in a meeting for up to 4 hours
- Stand, up to 8 hours at any time, to complete assigned duties
- Complete paperwork such as copying and stapling as needed
- Required to speak and hear
- Reach with hands and arms
- Stoop or kneel
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus
