About The Program And Position:
Our Home Study and Post Release Services (HS/PRS) program is dedicated to significantly impacting the lives of unaccompanied children aged 0- 17 ½. Referred through shelters or trusted foster care providers, these children rely on our continuous support throughout their journey from the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) to their parents or sponsors. We can guide and empower these children and sponsors through an unfamiliar system, which makes a great difference.
Under the direction of the Assistant Vice President of Case Management, the Regional Director will oversee a team of case managers who assist youth and their families to receive the support they need to experience a safe transition out of ORR care and into their communities. The role of the Regional Director is to lead, train, and provide guidance to their team while also providing administrative support to the Assistant Vice President.

How You Get To Use Your Skills…
- Oversee the assignment of Unaccompanied Children referrals
- Oversee and train program staff
- Supervise the work of caseworkers and Assistant Regional Director(s) within the region
- Ensure staff comply with agency and regulatory policies and procedures
- Assist staff in managing crises that may arise on their caseloads
- Perform a variety of administrative or executive support tasks, such as trend/quarterly reports that are confidential
- Conduct weekly audits to ensure all assessments, reports, and team case notes are current in the hardcopy file and electronic file
- Communicate with ORR and other vendors; meet all deadlines required by ORR, state licensing, and federal partners
- Perform other duties as requested by your immediate supervisor, the Vice President of HS/PRS, Senior and Executive leadership, or the Deputy for Federal Programs.
- Regular hours entail Monday-Friday 9 am-5 pm, business hours; Must be Flexible to meet program needs
- Must be available to work afternoons, evenings, and weekends required
- 24/7 on-call support required
- Travel outside of work hours to various hubs
Required Experience:
- Master’s degree in a related field required
- Three years of relevant, progressive experience required
- Experience conducting home studies required
- Experience working with immigrant populations required
- Knowledge of local community social services required
- Strong administrative experience
- Knowledge of family preservation, kinship care, and/or general child welfare
- Excellent organization skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Gmail applications
- Ability to work well with people from many cultures, non-English speakers, and LGBTQ children
- Bi-lingual - English/Spanish/other language preferred
- All agency documents and records are in English, so English writing proficiency is required.
- Valid driver’s license in a state located within the assigned region and personal, reliable vehicle to conduct tasks/assignments - required
- Ability to travel domestically for work-related matters.
- Computer work requires sitting at a desk for long periods of time
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Time driving and/or taking public transportation to conduct client and family visits
