Earn $50,000/annually, 3 weeks of vacation, 10 holidays (including 1 floating holiday), 24 hours personal time, and up to 80 sick days.
JOIN OUR CENTRAL NEW YORK TREATMENT FAMILY FOSTER CARE (TFFC) TEAM!
Under the supervision of the Director of TFFC Oneida and in cooperation with the Oneida TFFC and other personnel, the Foster Home Recruiter and Licensor will recruit, train and facilitate initial and ongoing certification of foster parents and ensure a good working relationship with parents by providing a valuable resource to families. The Foster Home Recruiter and Licensor will facilitate intake processes and maintain professionalism in all areas including confidentiality.
LOCATION: Utica, NY / Oneida County
FUNCTIONS:
Actively engages in the community to recruit prospective foster parents - including in-person tabling events, fairs, public speaking to find new foster parents
Screens and educates prospective foster parents to understand the needs of children and youth and how following our models of care meet those needs
Trains prospective Foster Parents
Certifies Foster Homes
Partners with Communications department to sharpen recruitment skills and strategies
Builds relationships with community leaders and mobilizes agency staff, partners, and existing foster parents to help recruit new foster parents and raise awareness about foster care in Oneida County.
Selects method of advertising, prepares and places recruitment advertisements in conjunction with agency Corporate Communication Specialist
Recruits, trains, and facilitates certification of foster parents. Training may include: PRIDE, TCIF, TST, MAPP, Mini MAPP or equivalent state training
Conducts initial and follow-up training of foster parents
Serves as a resource and trouble-shooter to foster families; maintains motivation and treatment participation of foster parents, ensures a good working relationship with foster parents
Attends weekly staff meetings
Documents and tracks all certification of homes in Connections or state equivalent system
Facilitate intake interviews with referred clients, and assist with matching youth to the appropriate foster home
SCHEDULE: Non-Exempt
Regular hours entail 9:00am - 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. During recruiting cycle hours will include nights and weekends. Must be able to flex schedule to meet program needs.
Experience and Skills:
Appropriate Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services/related field or 5 years of experience, preferably in a therapeutic foster care setting.
Background in an area relevant to the mental health field preferred
Experience in teaching or instructional presentations preferred
Ability to develop a thorough understanding of the TFFC model
Trained in First Aid/CPR preferred
Detail oriented, clerical aptitude
Excellent interpersonal skills

Ability to function well in a team setting
Ability to work independently
Ability to work well with people from many cultures and communities
Ability to handle confidential material in a responsible manner
Valid Driver’s License
Ability to travel to other agency locations as required

Physical Requirements:
Driving to and from appointments and activities as assigned.
Word processing: Including responding to emails, completing computerized documentation.
Lifting of Agency file books - weighing approximately 6-8 lbs each - 5 inch binders. File in them as needed, including sorting paperwork, hole punching, opening and closing of binder rings.
Completing paperwork, such as copying and stapling.
Sitting for extended periods of time.
Walking distances.
Walking up and down stairs inside/outside.
