Cayuga Counseling Services, Inc. is seeking a Full-Time Children's Mentorship & Recreation Coordinator. The Children's Mentorship & Recreation Coordinator will be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing a comprehensive mentoring program that provides guidance, support, and positive role modeling to children and youth participating in Cayuga Counseling Service's various programs. This role involves developing recreational activities, ensuring program effectiveness and fostering personal growth, social development, and educational success among participants. The Coordinator will also facilitate groups with children utilizing the Children's Program Kit.
The position responsibilities include the following:
- Develop a mentoring program for children aged 7-17 in Cayuga County
- Establish mentor recruitment strategies, screening processes, and conduct all required trainings for mentors.
- Design and implement recreational, educational, and skill-building activities tailored to different age groups and needs. This includes facilitating groups with children independently.
- Oversee the launch and execution of mentoring initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Market the program utilizing print and digital media.
- Monitor program effectiveness, collect feedback, and adjust strategies to optimize impact.
- Partner with community organizations, schools, and other agencies to expand program resources and support systems.
- Ensure adherence to NYS regulations including mandated reporting, child protection policies.
- Identify funding opportunities, assist with grant writing, and manage program budgets when necessary.
- Promote the program through outreach events, social media, and partnerships to encourage participation and engagement.
- Maintain detailed records of program activities, participate progress, and compliance reports.
- Train and support staff and volunteers involved in program activities.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualified candidates:
- Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years' experience in the human services field
- Have a valid NYS driver's license & reliable transportation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
