Cayuga Counseling Services, Inc. seeks a Full-time Children's Skill Builder for the Children's Community Treatment and Services Center. Your primary responsibilities will revolve around creating and implementing age-appropriate skill-building interventions designed to enhance the cognitive, social and emotional development of children. You will utilize innovative teaching methodologies, incorporating play-based learning and interactive activities to make the educational experience engaging and motivational. EEO Employer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Receive referrals from the program director and Identify client/family recommended for services.
- Provide rehabilitative services identified on the treatment plan which may include social and interpersonal skills, daily living skills and community integration.
- Participate in weekly multidisciplinary team meeting with the focus of providing an integrative approach to treatment.
- Participate in weekly individual supervision on the implementation of services.
- Implement interventions from the youth plan of care such as skill building, coaching and self-advocacy, empowerment and establishment of community connections and natural supports.
- Provide personalized assistance to children based on their unique learning needs and abilities, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment.
- Facilitate the integration of children into their family and community settings, promoting active and productive participation with the aim of minimizing the need for ongoing professional intervention.
- Provide services in various community settings encompassing the places where they child or youth resides, works, goes to school.
- Deliver services with a trauma informed approach, ensuring cultural and linguistic competence throughout the process.
- Ensures timely completion of all documentation.
- Performs other duties as required by Program Director.
Qualifications:
- Must have High School Diploma or a State Education Commencement Credential with a minimum of 3 years' experience working in children's mental health, addiction and/ or foster care.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in psychology, social work or in a human services field is preferred.
- Clearance through the NYS Central Registry for Child Abuse is required.
- Ability to work with a broad diversity of families, actively and effectively listen and be compassionate and committed to care for youth and supporting their goals.
- Must have extensive knowledge of community services and the ability to work cooperatively with them; must have ability to document activities accurately.
- Valid NYS driver's license
The Agency offers:
- 3 weeks PTO in your first year, 4 weeks in your second year
