What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) Community-Based Therapist position at Cayuga Counseling Services Inc?
Cayuga Counseling Services, Inc., a private, non-for-profit health and human service agency located in Auburn, NY seeks a Full Time Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) Community Based Therapist. The Therapist will provide child- centered assessments and therapeutic services for children in non-traditional settings including home and/or community, schools or other site-based settings.
The Community Based Therapist will use their skills to:
- Conduct initial evaluations and ongoing assessments and treatment planning for children referred to the Children and Family Treatment and Services Programs.
- Complete assessments to identify child's service needs.
- Develop treatment plans in consultation with the child and caregivers and treatment team.
- Provide individual, family and group therapy.
- Provide crisis intervention services.
- Provide services in a trauma informed, culturally and linguistically competent manner.
- Work with children ages 2 to 7 years old and their caregivers in providing Parent Child Interaction Therapy.
- Participate in a 2-week training for Parent Child Interaction Therapy as well as in monthly consultation calls over the course of 12 months.
- Administer Evidence Based Screening tools such as the Eyberg Child Behavior Inventory (ECBI) to measure progress and provide data feedback to caregivers.
- Complete all required clinical documentation in accordance with Agency requirements and within a timely manner.
- Attend training in Evidence Based treatment modalities.
- Participate in weekly supervision as well as other Agency meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications for the Community Based Therapist are:
- Qualified candidates must have a valid NYS licensure as a LMFT, LMHC, LCAT, LMSW, LCSW and licensed psychoanalyst.
- Have strong written and oral communication skills.
- prior experience in mental health programs providing direct services to children with emotional disturbances and their families.
- Must be able to work effectively with individuals and in groups and be successful at developing and fostering professional relationships.
