Description :
- Experience with Family Medicine Required
- Experience with Pediatric Patients Preferred
- Well adult / child physical exams, No-fault insurance exams, Workers Comp exams, DOT physicals, physicals for surgical clearance
- Lesion removal
- Nebulizer treatments
- Punch biopsies
- Allergy injections
- Cryotherapy for wart removal, superficial foreign body removal
- EKG, route lab tests, diagnosis and treatment for common acute and chronic health problems
- Immunizations (including the VFC program), and other minor procedures.
- Standard minor medical office procedure equipment
The purpose of the Advanced Provider is to assist the physicians of the practice with clinical activities, surgeries and other direct patient care including diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventative care. Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners work under the direct supervision of practice doctors.
Essential Job Functions :
Perform patient history and physical examinationsDiagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic health problemsOrder, and interpret laboratory and radiology testsPrescribe medication, including controlled substances as delegated in collaborative practice agreementDocument assessment, management, and education clearly, concisely, and legibly within medical recordDemonstrate strong communication skills with patients and significant others to provide feedback regarding findings and treatment plansAssess the patient and significant other s psychosocial, emotional, and environmental needsConsult other health care team members in collaboration with physician to meet physician needs, while ensuring continuity of careProvide phone triage to assess patient s needs and conditions and respond appropriatelyCoordinate patient care activities with other members of the office, hospital, or communityProvide education to patients, families, and community groups.Demonstrate compliance with documentation and coding requirementsMaintain and update skills and knowledgeWork with all members of the team to achieve patient centered care as well as quality care by using the best practice standards and case managementContribute to scheduled team meetings to discuss / clarify roles, responsibility, processes, and patient issuesProvide care management by communicating with community agencies as appropriateParticipate in quality improvement activities and committeesHospital rounds to support the needs of the practiceOn-call duties including emergency call and telephone call, to support the needs of the practiceKnowledge, skills and abilities :
