Garden Center Sales Associate
We are seeking highly motivated and energetic individuals to join our sales staff here at Cayuga Landscape. Cayuga Landscape has been in business for over 45 years and operates a 25-acre farm nursery, a 4-acre garden center, and a design-build landscape operation, with total employment of about 50. This position's primary tasks are, but are not limited to, operating the POS system, customer service and sales, watering plants, and keeping the nursery clean and organized. This position offers many opportunities to learn about plants and develop skills, with the potential for career advancement within the company. This position requires the ability to lift 40 pounds and work outside in inclement weather.
The ideal candidate will have a friendly and positive attitude, and have a great work ethic. Horticulture experience is preferred but not required. Applicants are required to work at least one weekend day every week of the season. Additional skills like being comfortable with and enthusiastic about customer service as well as being able to work independently and within a team are highly preferred. A valid NYS driver’s license with no major infractions is necessary.
This position is seasonal, with employment ending in late November or early December. Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Schedule: 40 hrs. per week (4 weekdays and 1 weekend day), some overtime
