Native Hawaiian Veterans, LLC (NHV) is a tribally-owned business; an Underutilized Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (UDBE); and Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) that provides services, solutions, and products in the areas of Homeland Security, Emergency Management, Information Technology, Communication Equipment, Professional Staff Augmentation, Munitions and Explosives of Concern (MEC) Remediation, and Strategic Communications/Creative Services.

 

Primary Focus:

The Exercise Planner will play a key role in developing, planning, and executing complex military exercises that support both Component and Joint operations. This position requires travel (up to 20%) and a commitment to delivering results in high-visibility scenarios, often with minimal supervision. Responsibilities

  • Manage the full lifecycle of military exercises, from conceptualization through execution and assessment
  • Ensure alignment with strategic goals and multi-domain operational objectives
  • Leverage expertise in Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC) phases, the Military Decision-Making Process (MDMP), Army Design Methodology (ADM), and Joint Planning Process (JPP) to create comprehensive exercise plans
  • Work closely with senior leadership to provide in-depth briefings and actionable recommendations, contributing to mission-critical training and readiness operations
  • Utilize extensive experience in exercise planning and a deep understanding of joint and multinational operations to complete goals
  • Utilize systems such as JTIMS and ARTIMS for managing training information
  • Be familiar with the nuances of budgeting and resource allocation across multi-funding streams
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (6 years of experience may be substituted if not holding a bachelor’s degree)
  • Master’s Degree preferred (can be substituted by bachelor’s degree 8 years of relevant experience or 12 years of overall experience)
  • Graduate of a Command and General Staff College or similar training institution
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time as required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in planning and executing Component or Joint Exercise Programs. 8 years of experience at the brigade level or higher is preferred
  • Experience in managing and supporting exercise budgets with multiple funding streams
  • Graduate of the Command and General Staff College (CGSC) or a comparable institution
  • Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment
  • Active Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Over 10 years of experience, ideally with a focus on high-visibility or mission-critical program aspects
  • Experience in overseeing and managing fewer senior staff or being responsible for an entire project team

Minimum Skills:

  • Expertise in the Five Stages of the Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC)
  • Familiarity with Military Decision-Making Process (MDMP), Army Design Methodology (ADM), and Joint Planning Process (JPP)
  • Proficiency in Joint Training Information Management System (JTIMS) and Army Training Information Management System (ARTIMS)
  • Knowledge in Joint and Multinational exercise design at the operational level
  • Understanding of Multi-Domain Operations
  • Ability to take exercises from the concept phase to the planning stage and deliver senior-level briefings on the concept of operations
  • Must be capable of independent planning and decision-making with minimal supervision
  • Must possess problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to respond effectively to customers with a sense of urgency.
  • Proficient in Microsoft and Adobe toolsets, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Acrobat, etc.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to handle and manage multiple tasks at any one time.
  • Ability to forge new relationships, individual and teaming in nature.
  • Must be a Self-starter, that can work independently and as part of a team.

Reports to: Program Manager

 

Working Conditions:

  • Professional office environment.
  • Must be physically and mentally able to perform duties extended periods of time.
  • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed to meet the demands of this position.
  • Must be able to establish a productive and professional workspace.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time looking at computer screen.
  • May be asked to work a flexible schedule which may include holidays.
  • May be asked to travel for business or professional development purposes.
  • May be asked to work hours outside of normal business hours.

Pay Range

USD $67,000.00 - USD $107,000.00 /Yr.
