As an Inventory Associate, you will play a critical role in the daily operations of a luxury jewelry retailer, ensuring the seamless movement of inventory, repairs, and vendor interactions. This role requires precision, organization, and attention to detail while supporting both the inventory and client service teams.
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
Inventory & Vendor Management
- Complete daily vendor visits to pick up and return diamonds, gemstones, and jewelry.
- Process diamond returns, including verifying weight, inscriptions, and original memo paperwork.
- Utilize The Edge POS system to track open memos and sold diamond reports.
- Conduct weekly diamond inventory audits to ensure accuracy.
- Oversee the daily processing of repairs, ensuring proper packaging and client-ready presentation.
- Scan and update The Edge system to alert customers when repairs are ready for pickup.
- Organize finished jobs alphabetically for efficient sales floor retrieval.
- Prepare and process returns and repairs to vendors and designers.
- Answer phones in alignment with company customer service standards.
- Respond to customer service inquiries as needed.
- Assist in setting up the sales floor daily.
- Deliver jewelry to clients and prepare shipment boxes for online orders.
- Transfer sales opportunities to the appropriate team members.
- Adhere to all security protocols as defined by store management.
- Maintain awareness of security risks and report any concerns promptly.
- Participate in internal team communications and store meetings.
- Maintain excellent telephone and written communication skills.
- Accept and implement constructive feedback.
- Uphold company dress code, professionalism, and code of conduct.
- Foster a positive, client-focused work environment.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in jewelry inventory management or a related role within the fine jewelry industry.
- Hands-on experience working with diamonds, including verifying weight, inscriptions, and quality details.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Preferred: Certifications such as Applied Jewelry Professional (AJP), Graduate Diamonds Diploma (GDD), or Graduate Gemologist (GG) from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) or equivalent institutions.
- Proficiency with client management systems and retail tools, including but not limited to The Edge POS system and Clientbook.
- Location: Onsite in New York, NY
- Schedule: Monday - Friday | Core hours 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM
- Compensation: $60k - $65k per year (dependent on experience)

Salary : $60,000 - $65,000
