Freight Broker - Experienced

Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Freight Broker to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the transportation of goods, negotiating contracts, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics and transportation management, with the ability to build relationships with carriers and clients alike.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage the movement of freight from origin to destination.
• Negotiate contracts and rates with carriers to secure competitive pricing.
• Utilize Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to track shipments and manage logistics operations.
• Develop and maintain relationships with carriers, ensuring reliable service delivery.
• Ensure compliance with FDA regulations and other relevant industry standards.
• Handle dispatching duties to ensure timely delivery of goods.
• Collaborate with sales teams to identify new logistics sales opportunities.
• Use software tools such as AS400 for efficient data management and reporting.
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries and resolving issues promptly.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in freight brokerage or a related field is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of dispatching processes, carrier sales, and contract negotiations.
• Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and logistics software.
• Understanding of FDA regulations and NVOCC operations is a plus.
• Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and carriers.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks effectively.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $120,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
