What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dispatcher position at Cazier Excavating?
Seeking a dispatcher to join our team. The right candidate will need to be motivated, have a great work ethic, dependable, always be on time. Previous experience in dispatch or logistics-related roles is preferred. This position is responsible for all dispatch activities related to field personnel, equipment, and hourly trucking. You must be able to work in an office environment for extended periods but also be physically capable of performing light tasks in the field and be tolerant of all weather conditions. You must be dependable, on time, and able to work full-time M-F. You must have a valid driver's license and be able to obtain a medical card for small equipment transport.
- Daily scheduling of field personnel, equipment, and trucks to appropriate locations/projects.
- Confer with the supervising team in order to address questions, problems, and requests for needed personnel, equipment, materials, and/or services.
- Monitor and maintain accurate records of dispatched assignments for field personnel, truck driver, deliveries, and equipment locations.
- Prepare and compile data into schedules and post daily for all employees.
- Coordinate with field operations, contractors, and vendors to ensure timely deliveries of material needed for projects.
- Communicate with the shop supervisor to schedule equipment services and, or necessary repairs.
- Provide administrative support to superintendents.
- Coordinate with field & shop to maintain/monitor supply inventory.
- Delivery of material to projects, if necessary, may include but are not limited to curb carts, tar pots, pipe, and other related supplies.
- Previous experience in dispatch or logistics-related roles is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of heavy equipment, trucks and the construction industry is a plus.
- Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and adaptable to changing priorities to re-prioritize as necessary throughout the day and effectively communicate changes with the team.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills are essential.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- You must have a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain a medical card for small equipment transport and be physically able to load & unload.
