Summary: We are seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented, and client-focused Events Director to lead our event operations at Copper Nickel. This role blends strategic leadership with hands-on planning and client engagement to deliver exceptional experiences for weddings, celebrations of life, corporate events, charity galas, and intimate concerts. The Events Director will oversee venue showings, event design meetings, and day-of coordination, while also managing a small team and contributing to business growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:Leadership & Strategy
- Lead and mentor the events team, including coordinators and support staff, to ensure seamless communication, high morale, and consistent execution.
- Oversee daily operations of the venue, ensuring all events meet or exceed client expectations and profitability goals.
- Collaborate with the executive team to refine marketing and sales strategies that drive client bookings.
- Support long-term growth by helping identify opportunities for venue expansion or service enhancements.
Client Experience & Sales Support
- Welcome prospective clients, guide them through venue showings, and explain offerings with professionalism and warmth.
- Present venue history, available amenities, and pricing structures in a compelling, client-focused manner.
- Follow up post-showing to answer questions, provide clarity, and drive conversions.
- Present small appreciation gifts during showings to enhance the client experience.
Event Design & Planning
- Lead design meetings with clients to bring their vision to life, guiding them through timeline creation, vendor selection, layout/floor plan design, and décor options.
- Offer creative upselling of add-ons like centerpieces, extended time, or specialty décor (e.g., smilax installations).
- Draft and update detailed Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and communicate relevant logistics to all internal teams.
Event Execution
- Ensure all event elements are set according to the floor plan and client's specifications.
- Confirm introductions between the client and onsite event staff.
- Be available during events for urgent questions or last-minute adjustments.
- Conduct post-event walkthroughs to ensure the venue is properly closed and all logistics are wrapped up smoothly.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in event planning, venue management, or hospitality, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or director-level role.
- Proven track record of delivering successful client events from concept to completion.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to manage both staff and client relationships gracefully.
- Highly organized, with the ability to juggle multiple projects and prioritize competing deadlines.
- Strong eye for design and aesthetics, with a client-service mindset and attention to detail.
- Experience with event budgeting, vendor negotiation, and onsite coordination.
- Comfortable working evenings, weekends, and nontraditional hours based on event schedules.
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, event management, communications, or a related field preferred but not required.
