What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant position at CB Flooring LLC?
Come join our team! CB Flooring is a large, independently owned commercial flooring and tile contracting business headquartered in Columbia, MD. We specialize in large scale, complex projects for blue chip clients. We operate primarily in three different states (MD, PA & VA), but perform services all throughout the DMV.
We are currently looking for an outstanding addition to our Accounting team!
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Prepares monthly bank statement reconciliation, bank collateral report and monitors compliance with bank covenants
- Manages and processes payments for non-inventory invoices and vendor check requests
- Administers and manages material returns and claims processes
- Maintains and reconciles balance sheet accounts (fixed assets, prepaid expenses, accrued expenses, etc.) and prepares standard month end journal entries
- Processes monthly sales/use tax reporting to respective jurisdictions
- Maintains credit relationships with vendors, including relevant discount and rebate programs
- Assists in preparation of monthly work-in-process (WIP) report for revenue recognition
- Assists in the monthly analysis of spending variances for financial statements
- Provides support and analysis for quarterly and year end audits
- Assists in maintaining job-specific compliance, including but not limited to OCIP/CCIP enrollments, minority business participation, bonds, etc.
- Performs periodic internal audits to ensure compliance requirements are adhered to
- Completes prequalification forms and other related documentation as required by subcontracts
- Supports inventory management processes and produces monthly management-level reporting
- Serves as backup for AP/Payroll/Billing/AR Manager as needed
- Assists CFO with special projects as required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field. CPA license or CPA candidate preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus in the construction industry.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Strong financial acumen and analytical skills.
- Experience with full-cycle accounting processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Very strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
