We are seeking a skilled and experienced Audio-Visual Pre-Sales Support Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be a key player in driving sales and customer success by providing expert technical guidance and support throughout the entire sales cycle. You will collaborate closely with our sales team and clients to understand needs, design and propose innovative AV solutions, and ensure successful project delivery. A fundamental understanding of audio-visual principles, functionality, and terminology is required to be successful. This role will require both on-site, customer-facing interactions as well as desk time for development and support of AV systems solutions.
Responsibilities and Duties:
• Collaborate with the sales team to provide technical support during the pre-sales process.
• Conduct thorough needs assessments with clients, including on-site surveys and comprehensive discovery meetings to identify requirements and constraints.
• Design and engineer customized AV solutions that meet client requirements, budget constraints, and project timelines.
• Create detailed design documents, including schematics, diagrams, and technical specifications.
• Populate quoting forms and tools, as well as work with operations team around budget and labor estimating.
• Prepare and deliver technical presentations and demonstrations to clients.
• Assist in the preparation of proposals, quotes, and bids for audio-visual projects.
• Provide technical expertise and support to the sales team during client meetings and negotiations.
• Work closely with project managers and installation teams to ensure successful implementation of designed solutions.
• Stay abreast of the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in the AV field.
• Participate in industry events, training sessions, and certifications to enhance professional development.
Required Skills:
• 5 years of experience in the AV industry, with a strong emphasis on Pre-Sales engineering and design.
• AVIXA certifications (CTS/CTS-I/CTS-D) and CQT highly preferred
• In-depth knowledge of AV technologies, including video conferencing (Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Webex), digital signage, audio systems, control systems (Crestron, AMX, Extron), and networking. Certifications are preferred.
• Experience with AV industry software platforms (e.g., CAD, Visio, project management tools), audio tuning, equalization, and DSP programming. Direct programming experience is preferred.
• Strong Networking skills. Relevant certifications or training courses are preferred.
• Organized, proactive, and good communication skills.
