Crystal Bridges is a museum of American art located in Bentonville, Arkansas. We explore the unfolding story of America by actively collecting, exhibiting, interpreting, and preserving outstanding works that illuminate the American heritage and artistic possibilities. Founded by Alice Walton in 2005, the museum opened in 2011 and is a public, non-profit charitable organization with free admission.
The Momentary is a new contemporary art space that opened to the public on February 22, 2020, in downtown Bentonville, Arkansas. A satellite to Crystal Bridges, the Momentary presents visual, performing, and culinary arts. The mission of the Momentary is to champion contemporary art’s role in everyday life and explore the unfolding story of contemporary American arts in an international context by actively commissioning and exhibiting outstanding works that explore new ideas and inspire action
Position Summary:
The Retail Product Development Intern will focus on helping to grow our exclusive custom print program from the permanent collection at Crystal Bridges as well as branded products and exclusive artist product collaborations. The custom print program allows customers to purchase prints from the CBMAA collection in a variety of sizes and frame options in just three easy steps. It is one of the largest revenue streams in the Museum Store and has the potential to increase exponentially with more variety and offerings. This position will help grow this offering. This position will also work on CBMO branded products and artist collaborations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Retail Product Development Intern will help to identify works from the CBMAA Collection from its digital archive with the end goal of adding 20 new works to the Custom Print Program. They will also help lay out new CBMO branded products and apparel to be included in our branded and artist collaboration exclusive merchandise.
The project will start with working with our Buyers to help identify works that could be added and track these works in Asana. This involves also working in collaboration with our Collections Information team at CBMAA and vendor resource teams. The intern will help to download and track the digital files to be sent to our color correction specialist at the print vendor. Then work to color match the prints so they are as close to the original artwork as possible.
While the prints are being color-corrected and processed, the Retail intern will also help with the design and production of new branded and artist collaboration merchandise when possible.
Educations Objectives:
- Learn about rights and reproductions for artworks.
- Learn about color correction and the process for capturing and reproducing prints and other products.
- Learn about retail product development and sales.
Qualifications:
- Applicants must be currently enrolled in school
- Digitally savvy and design skills.
- Working knowledge in Adobe Creative Suites is a plus.
- Willingness to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Willingness to learn customer service skills.
- Self-starter
Timeline:
Anticipated Start Date: August 25th
Anticipated End Date: November 15th
Schedule:
Hours: High School students: Up to 15 hours a week; Undergraduate students (bachelor’s Level): Up to 20 hours a week
Weekly schedule to be arranged with direct supervisor
To qualify for bachelor’s hours, you must be enrolled in an accredited program or have graduated from an accredited program within the last three years. Students will be required to submit a current schedule or official transcript.
Compensation:
High School Interns: $12.00 an hour
Undergraduate Interns: $13.00 an hour

Visual acuity to review written materials is required for this job.
- Work environment: Work will be performed in an office environment and museum spaces. The noise level in the museum work environment is usually low to moderate.
