Job Summary:
We are looking for a Business Development Manager to join CBA Elevator Consultants, LLC and lead the growth of our client base across the Tri-State area and beyond. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business development, a deep understanding of the elevator consulting industry, and the ability to forge new partnerships in real estate, construction, and property management. This role is essential to expanding our market presence, and the candidate will work closely with both leadership and technical teams to provide innovative and cost-effective elevator solutions to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development & Growth Strategy:
- Develop and execute a robust business development plan aimed at increasing CBA’s market share in the elevator consulting industry.
- Identify new business opportunities within the commercial, residential, and industrial sectors, focusing on elevator modernizations and new installations.
- Collaborate with senior management to ensure business development goals align with CBA’s long-term growth strategy.
Client Acquisition & Lead Generation:
- Actively seek out new clients by networking with property developers, building owners, architects, general contractors, and facility managers throughout the Tri-State area.
- Conduct market research to identify upcoming projects, industry trends, and potential clients in need of consulting services.
- Generate high-quality leads through cold outreach, attending industry events, and leveraging existing networks.
Client Relationship Management:
- Build strong, lasting relationships with key stakeholders in real estate, construction, and property management.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients by understanding their elevator needs and proposing tailored consulting solutions that meet regulatory, safety, and efficiency standards.
- Maintain regular communication with clients throughout the project lifecycle to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns.
Sales & Proposal Development:
- Prepare and present detailed elevator consulting proposals to potential clients, highlighting CBA’s expertise and customized solutions.
- Lead contract negotiations to secure favorable terms for both CBA and the client, ensuring profitability and successful project execution.
- Work closely with the technical teams to ensure proposals align with project scope, timelines, and budget.
Industry Representation & Networking:
- Represent CBA at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to promote our consulting services.
- Build and maintain relationships with other industry professionals, such as elevator manufacturers, service providers, and regulatory bodies.
- Stay informed on the latest trends, technologies, and legal requirements in the elevator industry, particularly those impacting the NYC/NJ market.
Project Support & Collaboration:
- Work in conjunction with the project management and consulting teams to ensure smooth service delivery and project completion.
- Act as a liaison between the client and internal teams to ensure all client specifications are met during the consulting process.
- Provide post-project support, ensuring the client is satisfied and fostering long-term partnerships for future projects.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
- Track key performance indicators such as lead generation, conversion rates, sales revenue, and client satisfaction.
- Report regularly to senior leadership on business development performance and adjust strategies based on market feedback and results.
- Continuously seek ways to improve the sales and client engagement process.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field (MBA is a plus).
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in business development, sales, or a similar role, in the elevator industry.
- Strong understanding of elevator systems, including modernizations and new installations.
- Proven track record of generating leads, building client relationships, and closing deals.
- Ability to understand and communicate technical concepts and elevator design considerations to non-technical clients.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency with CRM software, Microsoft Office, and other sales-related tools.
- Familiarity with the Tri-State area market and willingness to travel as needed.
