Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise day-to-day quality assurance operations to ensure compliance with regulatory, customer, and company standards.
- Monitor and enforce food safety programs, including HACCP, GMPs, and SQF standards.
- Conduct routine inspections of facilities, equipment, and processes to ensure adherence to quality protocols.
- Investigate and resolve quality-related issues, including non-conformances, customer complaints, and product deviations.
- Manage internal and external audits, preparing necessary documentation and ensuring successful outcomes.
- Train and mentor QA team members on quality processes, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Review and maintain quality records, including inspection reports, test results, and certifications.
- Collaborate with production, procurement, and operations teams to implement corrective actions and continuous improvement plans.
- Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of QA equipment and testing tools.
- Stay up to date with changes in food safety regulations and industry best practices.
Qualifications and Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in quality assurance within the food industry, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards, including HACCP, GMPs, and SQF.
- Experience conducting audits and managing compliance with FDA, USDA, or other regulatory agencies.
- Proficiency in quality management systems and documentation processes.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Relevant certifications such as SQF Practitioner, HACCP, or PCQI are highly preferred.
