cBEYONData is hiring a Senior Enterprise Architect to support our federal client, government subject matter experts, industry, and vendor representatives. A major focus for the position will be oversight and coordination between Enterprise Business Systems - Convergence (EBS-C) and Resource Manager’s Workspace (RMW). This role will be required to work with the current System Integrator (SI) for RMW to ensure alignment of enterprise architecture for best practice and recommendations for technical and functional integrations of both enduring Army systems, EBS-C and RMW. This position requires experience managing deliverables from vendor integrators, providing the government recommendations on best practices and process improvements to expedite delivery, and understanding Acquisition roles and responsibilities between government and contractor support. This position requires the utmost professionalism, trust in both self and others, self-motivation to anticipate needs or potential issues, and may require integration at times with Senior Leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Planning, analyzing, and documenting functional and technical architecture for compliance with DoD Architecture Framework Requirements.
- Document future (to-be) IT designs (in the business, systems, data, infrastructure, and security domains) during the planning phase (before implementation phase) of a project.
- Communicate and document technical capability gaps as well as provide the IT recommendations to potentially fill those gaps.
- Keeping architectural artifacts, related to the project, up to date during each phase of the project (cradle to grave).
- Present any proposed new, updated, or decommission IT plans to the government.
- Support EA application rationalization efforts by participating as SMEs of their project.
- Document application and/or data re-architect / refactor / rebuild / remove / replace efforts as the outcomes of application/data rationalization efforts.
- Provide conceptual data modeling at various levels of granularity and scope (e.g., enterprise, program, product, system).
- Review application logical data models.
- Review physical database design requirements for review and inclusion in the physical data model.
- Providing guidance and direction to integrator team, as directed by the government, for completion of tasks and products timely and with high quality.
- Managing and overseeing the execution of development in the lower landscapes by the integrator team ensuring process and best practices are adhered to.
- Monitoring the progression of configuration packages/transports from the DEV environment through to Production following appropriate process and approvals as directed by the government.
- Developing information system test strategies, plans, process, or scenarios as needed to facilitate proper testing and best practice throughout the RMW landscapes.
- Reviewing contractor delivered documentation related to design, build, test and deploy, providing input and recommendations towards maintaining functional and technical design documentation and training content.
- Advise the Change Advisory Board (CAB) for any technical changes brought to the board for voting and implementation.
- Work with Functional Process Owner (FPO) to balance and prioritize the Agile backlog between functional and technical requirements while considering program objectives, technical constraints, and objectives established in the Agile planning events.
- Supporting the Agile Release Train (ART) for technical delivery of Program Increment Features and Stories in support of the Capability Roadmap.
- Ensuring that technical features (enablers) align to product requirements and maintain the requirements traceability matrix for technical requirements.
- Keeping the RMW PMO informed around technical risks, impediments, and pending changes that will affect the overall mission area.
- Supporting impact assessments as required on technical solutions or changes to the RMW solution including level of effort considerations, complexity, and anticipating risks and issues.
- Participating and providing input or response to Objectives at Agile Planning events and all Agile ceremonies as needed.
- Briefing internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership on technical solutions and recommendations as needed.
- Adhering to daily and weekly reporting tasks, maintain proper email, Microsoft Teams and meeting etiquette per office conops, and adhere reporting requirements through the Chain of Command.
- Reviewing government owned program documents for relevancy, accuracy and completeness as well as overall best practices in software systems engineering as required.
- Coordinate with EBS-C architecture team, through ongoing collaboration with the Multi-Functional Capabilities Team (MFCT) architecture leads.
- Other duties as required.
Requirements:
- Active DoD Secret security clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related Business field
- Experience working with DoD, Army preferred
- 1 or more years of experience leading a team
- 4 or more years of relevant experience in the field of work
- Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture or information modeling frameworks and techniques
- Strong soft skills leading small groups of stakeholders, communication with functional and technical experts, and demonstrated ability to build consensus
- Experience using enterprise architecture tools, ARIS preferred
- Excellent communication skills at all organizational levels
