Position Summary:
The Purchasing Agent is responsible for executing the tactical purchasing of goods and materials to support company operations. This role focuses on procuring the right materials at the right time, ensuring seamless operations and on-time delivery while managing costs effectively. The Purchasing Agent will collaborate closely with internal teams and suppliers to ensure that all materials meet quality, pricing, and delivery expectations.
Responsibilities
- Procurement Execution: Place purchase orders for materials, equipment, and supplies based on requisitions and operational needs.
- Supplier Coordination: Work with vendors to confirm order details, including pricing, availability, and delivery timelines.
- Order Tracking & Follow-up: Monitor purchase orders to ensure timely delivery, proactively resolving any delays or discrepancies.
- Vendor Relations: Maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure consistent service levels and resolve any supply chain disruptions.
- Quality Assurance: Coordinate with receiving teams to inspect delivered goods and address any discrepancies in quality or quantity.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate purchasing records, contracts, and supplier communications for reporting and compliance.
- Cross-Functional Communication: Provide regular updates to internal stakeholders on order status, delays, and any procurement-related issues.
Qualifications
- Accountability: Takes ownership of purchasing responsibilities and follows through on commitments.

Preferred Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain operations.
- Knowledge of purchasing software and ERP systems is a plus.
- Familiarity with supply chain processes and vendor management.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and data management skills.
