Description
CBG Surveying Texas is one of the oldest and most successful land surveying companies in Texas, established over 30 years ago. CBG Surveying is seeking Entry Level Land Surveying Interns who are interested in a formalized training program to become an effective land surveying crew member in our Garland and Houston offices. We are offering an 8-week hands-on training program, where you will be paid to train with on-the-job learning experiences to give you the fundamentals to become skilled in the profession of land surveying.
The Land Surveying Intern will work in a fast-paced field environment under the direction of an experienced Survey Field Manager. We are seeking candidates who enjoy working in varying weather conditions and who will accurately collect field data using survey equipment.
Requirements
We will Teach & Train you in the following areas (a combination of 8 weeks of learning through instructional classroom and in-field learning opportunities):
· Utilize survey equipment for accurately gathering survey data.
· Performing COGO functions such as inverse, resection, stake a line, translate, and rotate coordinates in the field.
· Reading a recorded subdivision plat or a metes and bounds legal description.
· Locating property corners using a pin finder, recorded deed or subdivision plat, or a metes and bounds legal description.
· Learning CBG Surveying Texas field codes to run line work.
· The process of cutting lines with a machete, brush hook, or chainsaw.
· Daily organizational skills for equipment handling and inventory control for stocking your truck equipment, (carrying proper instruments, field equipment, hammers, stakes, lathes, hubs, nails, etc.).
· Carrying out instructions and tasks assigned by the Survey Field Manager.
*To qualify you must have a valid driver’s license, a high school diploma, or a GED certificate and have a sharp eye for detail!
*Class projected to start on May 5th!
