Description:
The HR Specialist will assist the human resources department by performing various functions which include recruiting, training staff, auditing benefits, and maintaining employee records. This is a full-time position serving Hot Springs, Rapid City, Sturgis, Belle Fourche, and Union Center locations in South Dakota and Sundance and Gillette Wyoming locations.
Responsibilities of the HR Specialist
- Receive and review applications and resumes, making all necessary calls to determine if the applicant is eligible for an interview.
- Schedule interviews.
- Assist with offer letters.
- Complete employer portion of onboarding new hires.
- Ensure new hires have a successful, pleasant onboarding experience.
- Review policies and procedures with new hires.
- Assist new hires with the benefit enrollment process.
- Annually review benefits with employees during open enrollment and assist with the open enrollment process.
- Educate employees about benefits and benefit changes.
- Audit benefits to ensure employee benefits are accurate.
- Complete quarterly benefit census reports.
- Partner with Payroll Manager to resolve payroll-related matters.
- Maintain employee records.
- Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Requirements
- Strong knowledge of benefit laws and regulations
- Excellent communication skills
- 4 years HR experience
- Associate's degree in business
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
