Position Overview
The Lead Installer will play a critical role in leading a small crew in both new construction and renovation projects. This hands-on position requires extensive knowledge and experience in residential construction, coupled with strong leadership abilities to ensure high-quality workmanship and project success. The ideal candidate will be proficient in various trades, possess excellent problem-solving skills, and be committed to maintaining safety and quality standards on all job sites.
Responsibilities
- Crew Leadership: Lead a crew in all aspects of new construction and renovations, fostering a productive and efficient team environment.
- Active Participation: Actively participate in the installation process, ensuring high-quality workmanship in framing, roofing, siding, drywall installation, and finishing.
- Task Coordination: Coordinate tasks and manage workflow to meet project timelines and ensure efficient progress.
- Safety Management: Maintain a safe and productive work environment by implementing and enforcing safety protocols.
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements and expectations are met.
- Quality Control: Conduct inspections to ensure high standards of workmanship, addressing any deficiencies promptly.
Qualifications
- Experience: Extensive experience in residential construction, including framing, roofing, siding, drywall installation, and finishing.
- Trade Proficiency: Proficiency in various trades, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and HVAC installation and repair.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a crew effectively.
- Remodeling Expertise: Experience in remodeling kitchens, bathrooms, basement finishing, and installing new flooring.
- Building Code Knowledge: Knowledge of building codes and regulations, with a focus on implementing safety protocols on job sites.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to troubleshoot construction challenges.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise with project managers, clients, and crew members.
- Quality Commitment: Commitment to quality control, ensuring high standards of workmanship and conducting inspections to address deficiencies.
- Tool Proficiency: Proficiency with construction tools and machinery, including maintenance and proper usage of equipment.
- Project Management: Experience in developing and following construction schedules, as well as managing supply orders and inventory.
