Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Build an engaging newscast that feels comprehensive while simultaneously crafting moments for news anchors to show command of the information.
- Write conversational, balanced copy that provides the appropriate depth and context.
- React quickly to breaking news and weather.
- Actively participate in editorial meetings and pitch stories regularly.
- Stay organized while managing time, people and other resources.
- Cultivate partnership and collaboration through strong communication skills.
- Edit pacers for newscast from desktop computer.
- Works well under deadlines.
- Exhibit confidence in the control room.
- Ensure accurate grammar, spelling, and attention to detail in all content produced.
- Incorporate digital elements into newscasts in a significant way.
- 5 years of producing newscasts in a medium to large market.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- Experience on INEWS or equivalent news computer system, experience working with video editing systems.
- Must exhibit deep understanding of journalistic principals and ethics.
- Must be able to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours, including overnight, weekends and holidays.
