Executive Producer

OVERVIEW AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

CBS Sacramento is seeking a freelance Executive Producer with a broad set of skills to join the team! This key management position will directly oversee newscast editorial content and production. This person possesses dynamic leadership skills, strong editorial judgment and showcasing creativity necessary to manage and grow a team of producers. The Executive Producer must be capable of identifying brand-specific content and story angles in line with KOVR's "Getting Answers" brand.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Ensure accuracy, quality and viewer appeal of newscasts
• Maintain high standards in accordance with station and FCC regulations and requirements
• Work with production staff to ensure high quality, creative and error-free on-air look
• Evaluate staff members, recruit and hire hardworking producers and writers
• Interact with and manage anchors and reporters

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3 years of experience as a producer or news manager
• Excellent oral and written communication skills required

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism or related field preferred
• Familiarity with Northern California is a big plus

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $95,000.00 - 110,000.00.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
