Job Description
The primary role of this position is to ensure high-quality installation, troubleshooting, and repair of network/power cabling and hardware systems for all solutions offered by the professional services delivery organization's integration facility.
This includes working primarily at the integration facility, as well as on-site at customer locations as required for service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership Experience: The successful candidate will have experience leading installation crews consisting of Level 2/3 resources, ensuring efficient and effective project execution.
- DC Power Expertise: We require prior DC power experience including secondary power requirements, circuit modifications, power transition work, and battery management.
- Equipment Installation: Strong background in equipment installation, including servers, switches, and other network devices.
- Cable Installation: Proficiency in AC power, copper-fiber installation, cable routing, installation standards knowledge, cable testing, cleaning, dressing/termination, and labeling.
- Vendor-Specific Tests: Ability to run vendor-specific tests/diagnostics on cables and computer systems/components, with a preference for Fiber tester experience using Fluke tools.
- Method of Procedure (MOP) Execution: Skilled in interpreting and executing MOP documents to ensure accurate and efficient project completion.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, including clear daily feedback, issue escalation, customer interaction, and progress reporting.
- Problem-Solving: Willingness to solve problems and overcome issues to maintain delivery schedules and avoid errors, while also seeking input when necessary.
- Site Audit/Review: Perform thorough site audits/reviews, including reviewing job requirements, conducting night 1 material inventory and job walk/dry run, and performing end-of-job quality audits.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience in a similar field.
- Work Environment: Must be able to lift 50lbs, comfortable using mechanical tools, box cutters, ladders, and power outlets, and prepared for frequent travel (approximately 80-90% of the time).
