Summary/Objective:
The Warehouse Truck Jockey will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving trucks within the warehouse yard, ensuring that trucks are properly positioned at the loading docks for the unloading and loading of product.
Warehouse Truck Jockey Responsibilities:
- Safely move trucks around the warehouse yard, positioning them at the designated loading and unloading docks.
- Ensure all trucks are parked in compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Assist with the management of the yard, ensuring an organized and efficient layout of trucks.
- Perform routine inspections of trucks and trailers, reporting any mechanical issues or safety concerns to management.
- Maintain proper communication with the warehouse staff and drivers to coordinate the movement of trucks.
- Keep accurate records of truck movements and assist with scheduling dock assignments.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment while performing duties.
Warehouse Truck Jockey Qualifications:
- Valid Drivers License.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Previous experience in a similar role (yard jockey, yard driver, or truck driver) is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow operational procedures.
- Basic computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members, management, and external partners.
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects, typically up to 50 pounds.
- Capability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
