Clear Choice Dermatology is looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Junior Histotech Lab Assistant to join our Dermatopathology lab team during evening and weekend hours. This entry-level role is perfect for a high school student, recent graduate, or early college student interested in science, healthcare, or lab work. You'll help support the lab by scanning histology slides and assisting with light organizational tasks.
This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a medical lab environment—no prior experience needed, just a great attitude and willingness to learn!
Responsibilities:
Scan prepared microscope slides using digital scanning equipment
Label, track, and organize slides for accurate case management
File and archive slides and tissue blocks
Perform light data entry in the Laboratory Information System (LIS)
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Communicate issues or questions to your supervisor promptly
Follow all lab safety and privacy guidelines (HIPAA, OSHA, CLIA)
Requirements:
Qualifications:
A high school junior/senior, recent grad, or college student
Punctual, responsible, and able to follow instructions carefully
Comfortable using a computer and learning new tools
Detail-oriented and organized
Able to work independently after training
Curious about science, healthcare, or lab careers
Able to sit or stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
Schedule:
Evening shifts (typically between 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM)
Weekend availability required (flexible daytime or evening shifts)
