CCAC Building Solutions is seeking a skilled and motivated Building Automation Project Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, programming, and managing the implementation of building automation systems (BAS) to optimize building performance. You will work closely with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities :
1. System Design & Engineering :
Develop and review building automation system designs, including control strategies, wiring diagrams, and equipment specifications.
Select appropriate hardware and software to meet project requirements.
Ensure designs comply with building codes, standards, and energy efficiency regulations.
2. Project Management :
Lead and manage BAS projects from conception to completion.
Create project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
Coordinate with clients, contractors, and vendors to ensure project deliverables are met.
Monitor project progress, address challenges, and implement corrective actions as needed.
3. Programming & Integration :
Develop and test control system programs for HVAC, lighting, and other building systems.
Integrate third-party systems into building automation platforms.
Conduct system commissioning and performance validation.
4. Technical Support & Troubleshooting :
Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and operation phases.
Diagnose and resolve system issues, ensuring optimal performance.
5. Client Engagement & Training :
Communicate with clients to understand project requirements and expectations.
Provide training and documentation for end users to operate and maintain systems.
6. Documentation :
Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, including design drawings, equipment schedules, and operation manuals.
Ensure all project records are accurate and up to date.
Qualifications :
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience : 2 years of experience in building automation systems, HVAC controls, or related fields.
Technical Skills :
Proficiency in BAS programming tools and platforms (e.g., BACnet, LonWorks, Modbus).
Experience with control systems for HVAC, lighting, and energy management.
Familiarity with software tools like AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design programs.
Certifications : Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Energy Manager, Tridium Niagara Certification) are a plus.
Soft Skills :
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Conditions :
Hybrid work environment with some on-site visits to client locations.
Occasional travel may be required for project support and training.
