Position summary: The Safety Manager will lead the safety programs for CCAC, including record-keeping, training, program development, auditing, accident investigation, claims management, etc.
Position responsibilities:
- Manage the paperwork/recording/tracking/data analysis for all safety information and costs.
- Conduct employee and manager education and training
- Conduct job safety analysis for all jobs
- Conduct inspections of workplace
- Maintain current knowledge of OSHA regulations
- Implement best practices to promote safe procedures
- Conduct accident/near-miss investigations with root cause analysis and corrective action identification and implementation
- Audit safe work practices and procedures
- Design and conduct introductory training for new employees
- Design and conduct regular training for all employees
- Establish safety culture throughout the company
- Identify risk areas to address before accidents occur and implement solutions to eliminate or minimize the risk
- Lead the efforts to reduce all exposures - health hazards, occupational illnesses, and workplace accidents - and to control costs
- Schedule, conduct and secure records for monthly Safety Committee Meeting
- Establish, maintain, and keep current training records for all employees
- Monitor and work with Insurance company ALL workers compensation cases
- Design and manage the Safe Worker Reward Programs
- Assist as directed in other areas of the business
Essential skills, knowledge, and experience:
- 4-yr degree in related field or equivalent in experience and on-going education.
- 3 years’ experience managing safety in a manufacturing or trades business; safety experience in the service and construction industry preferred.
- OSHA 30 certification
- Experience dealing with Worker’s Compensation cases required.
- Excellent problem analysis skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office products; keyboarding skills.
