What are the responsibilities and job description for the Group Leader/ Direct Support Person position at CCAR?
CCAR Industries is 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is searching for a full-time group leader to provide direct supervision to day program participants in their work areas at our manufacturing plant location.
SCHEDULE
- This is a permanent full-time, daytime position on Monday - Friday from 7 am - 3:30 pm with a 30 minute lunch break.
- Weekends and major holidays off
REQUIREMENTS
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must possess a GED or high school diploma
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must pass a criminal background check, as required by the Healthcare Worker Background Check Act (225 ILCS 46), and a DCFS CANTS background check.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities in a direct support role is preferred
- Must complete 120 hours of paid training to become a direct support person, unless this training has been previously completed
- Must be able to work independently or as a team
- Must be able to operate a hand truck and basic hand tools with training
- Demonstrate organization, timeliness, and accuracy in documentation
WAGES
This position starts at $17.75/hour with a $0.50 increase when training is complete.
