SUMMARY: The Compliance Analyst is responsible for supporting the Compliance Department in monitoring, reporting on, and supporting compliance for a broad range of services including behavioral health, medical services, employment, housing, and other support services. The Compliance Analyst is responsible for assisting compliance activities related to contractual requirements and federal, state, and local government regulations.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with the Compliance Manager and Senior Healthcare Compliance Specialists to conduct compliance assessments, risk assessments, and internal audits. Analyze results and provide formal and informal reports of findings, including recommendations for improvement. Effectively communicate findings to manager, colleagues, and internal and external stakeholders, and assist programs with related corrective action as needed.
  • Facilitate regularly scheduled trainings regarding key areas of compliance, such as HIPAA, 42 CFR part 2, Medicare/Medicaid fraud, waste, and abuse, and records release.
  • Respond to program queries about compliance issues as assigned.
  • Assist with identifying and tracking the agency’s regulatory and contractual obligations, and monitor CCC’s compliance with these obligations.
  • Support the investigation, communication, and response to all alleged data security incidents including breaches of protected health information, collaborate with internal parties on remediation efforts, notify affected parties, and lead and support corrective actions.
  • Support development, maintenance, and revisions of policies and forms.
  • Keep current with laws and regulations of federal, state, local, and licensing bodies.
  • Demonstrate personal attentiveness, responsiveness, and prompt follow-up to all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support administrative departments in a variety of compliance related tasks as assigned.
  • Adhere to all state and federal privacy regulations, including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2, and to CCC policies and agreements regarding confidentiality, privacy, and security. Support compliance with all privacy and security requirements pursuant to community partners’ and outside providers’ patient confidentiality agreements, including privacy and security requirements for EMR access. This includes immediately reporting any breach of protected health information or personal identification information of any person receiving CCC services by CCC or an outside provider to the CCC Compliance Department, as well as to your supervisor or their designee.
  • Participate in professional development activities and attend all mandatory CCC trainings in a timely manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to interpret and communicate regulatory and contract compliance requirements for implementation purposes.

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information on a daily and ongoing basis.
  • Must have a demonstrated history of capability in highly detail-oriented work.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing, including technical writing, interpersonal skills, and speaking to groups of employees.
  • Ability to display a non-judgmental attitude and show diplomacy and tact. Ability to work courteously and communicate effectively with clients, co-workers, program staff, and the public at large.
  • Ability to learn new skills.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity and physical ability to perform assigned tasks.
  • Ability to manage time and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and necessary paperwork.
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, organize, train, and implement.
  • Ability to work with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Ability to manage time, work independently, and meet deadlines.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Required: One of the following combinations of education and experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree (health-care related field, public administration or policy, business, or a related field preferred) and 1 year experience in compliance, records management, business administration, health care administration, or a related field; OR
  • Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC) or Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) through HCCA or Certified in Healthcare Privacy and Security (CHPS) through AHIMA and 1 year experience in compliance, records management, business administration, health care administration, or a related field; OR
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in compliance, records management, business administration, health care administration, or a related field and 3 work samples demonstrating writing and professional communication skills.
  •  Required: Familiarity with a variety of the compliance field’s concepts, practices, and procedures, especially the elements of an effective compliance program.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of health care systems, particularly knowledge of primary care, mental health and substance abuse, community health care, and/or Federally Qualified Health Center regulations.
  • High degree of computer literacy required, including ability to learn new software and systems.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, TB test, and background check.
