Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Transport Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing safe and efficient transportation services for our clients, ensuring a high level of customer service throughout the journey. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to handle various driving scenarios, including paratransit, shuttle driving, and delivery services.
Duties
- Safely operate vehicles to transport clients to designated locations, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting passengers with boarding and disembarking, ensuring their comfort and safety during transit.
- Maintain clear communication with dispatch regarding routes, schedules, and any potential delays.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Assist with heavy lifting when necessary, especially when transporting equipment or assisting clients with mobility challenges.
- Keep accurate records of trips, including mileage, fuel usage, and passenger counts.
- Follow all company policies and procedures related to transportation services.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred; experience in van driving or shuttle driving is a plus.
- Previous experience in customer service roles is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with paratransit services or school bus driving is an advantage.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing situations on the road.
- Must be able to perform heavy lifting as required by the job duties.
- A clean driving record is essential; background checks may be conducted as part of the hiring process.
