FULL-TIME TENURE TRACK FACULTY – CHEMISTRY

Kennedy-King College is currently seeking a Full-Time Tenure Track Faculty to teach Chemistry. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrate excellence in teaching; integrate technology to enhance student learning and engagement; inspire, motivate, and empower students.
- Develop and design courses by utilizing student-learning outcomes to guide course instruction.
- Incorporate strategies to improve student engagement and student retention.
- Compile, administer, and grade examinations; record and submit grades electronically using the college’s database.
- Hold office hours for student conferences and other instructional support needs like mentoring and advising.
- Complete all mandatory midterm/final grading and active pursuit certifications required by the college.
- Navigate and make use of a Learning Management System (LMS) to support classroom instruction.
- Administer programmatic evaluations.
- Attend departmental/college-wide meetings; and participate in various department and or college-wide activities or committees.
QUALIFICATIONS
- M.S. in Chemistry - OR - Master's degree and 18 graduate semester hours in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related disciplines.
- Ph.D. in Chemistry or relevant field preferred
- Knowledge of Bright space learning management system
- Experience with a diverse, student population is desired, as is a commitment to the open access mission of the community college.
IDEAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Organic Chemistry, Survey of Organic and Biochemistry, General Chemistry, and Introductory chemistry
- Strong knowledge of assessment and the role it plays in the teaching and learning environment.
- Time Management and Task Management Skills
- Collaborative, Team, and Goal-Oriented
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
