ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Instruct in one or more of the following areas:
- B&W and digital photography-all formats - processing, printing, finishing and retouching
- Design Fundamentals
- Digital Imaging
- Documentary Photography and Photojournalism
- Editorial photography
- Photographic lighting (all types), studio and location
- Portrait photography
- View Camera (theory and application)
- Teach in accordance with departmental course outlines and design instructional activities that promote student learning, achievement, and retention.
- Teach day, evening, and/or weekend class(es) at one or more campus locations as required.
- Participate in departmental functions, such as staff meetings, committee work, faculty evaluations, curriculum development, revision, development and assessment of student learning outcomes and others as schedule permits.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent foreign degree, plus two years of professional experience directly related to the faculty member's assignment; or the equivalent OR; OR Earned Associate Degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent foreign degree, plus six years of professional experience directly related to the faculty member's assignment; OR the equivalent; OR Minimum of two years of practical, verifiable occupational experience in the field of photography.
- Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities to work with community college students with disabilities, various sexual orientations, and diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds (Required).
- Mastery or technical skills and knowledge of aesthetics as demonstrated in portfolio presented.
- Digital and film camera operation and technique: small, medium, and large format cameras.
- Analogue and digital materials and processes, including finishing, processing, and presentation.
- Photographic lighting-natural and artificial including tungsten & strobe (all types).
