Part Time Staff ASL/English Interpreter/EIPA
The Children’s Center for Communication/ Beverly School for the Deaf (CCCBSD) is seeking a part time (20 hours/week) Staff ASL/English Interpreter to support the needs of our students and staff.
The staff interpreter is an integral member of the CCCBSD Community. The staff interpreter has the responsibility of supporting the interpreting needs of staff and students’ school-wide and is an essential member of the educational team. The staff interpreter will interpret across a multitude of student settings including but not limited to student therapies, community-based outings, specials (i.e. gym, art, music, STEAM), field trips, IEP meetings etc. In addition, the staff interpreter is responsible for providing high quality interpreting to all CCCBSD faculty and
staff. These assignments include, but are not limited to staff meetings, consultations with therapists and related service providers, professional development, training, and any other meetings assigned.
Candidates will have an Associates Degree, Bachelor's Degree preferred, from an accredited college or university, with coursework in interpreting, education, Deaf education, special education, communication disorders, or early-childhood preferred. Previous successful experience in an academic setting is highly preferred.
In addition, the candidate must show evidence of EIPA certification, National Certification, or approval from the Massachusetts Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. Should the candidate not possess an EIPA certification score of at least 3.5, he/she must obtain the certification within one (1) year of hire to comply with Massachusetts State regulations.
Hourly rate ranges from: $34 - $52 depending on experience and level of screening/certification. Schedule is 10AM-2PM, Monday - Friday.
