We’re looking for a part-time, contract-based Instructional Designer to support our team. If you're a freelancer with expertise in Storyline 360 and a passion for developing engaging, high-quality training, we'd love to hear from you!
SCOPE OF WORK
- Design and develop eLearning courses that engage learners and meet client training objectives.
- Apply instructional design best practices to structure content effectively.
- Perform quality assurance to ensure accuracy, clarity, and accessibility.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and internal teams to create impactful learning experiences.
- Deploy courses to learning management systems (LMS) and troubleshoot technical issues as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Experience developing professional training materials for both e-learning and classroom environments, ideally in a corporate training or consulting environment.
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in instructional design, education, communications or other related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong knowledge of instructional design, adult learning principles, and leadership development.
- Strong portfolio showcasing experience in all aspects of eLearning analysis, design, and development.
Proven ability to create engaging learning solutions using Articulate Storyline and Articulate Rise. - Excellent communication skills across various mediums.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex concepts visually and in writing to support learner engagement.
- Strong technical skills including:
- Proficiency in Articulate 360 (Rise, Storyline).
- Advanced Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint skills.
- Familiarity with LMS platforms and deployment processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong grammar, punctuation, and attention to detail.
- Personable, collaborative, and capable of building strong relationships with team members and clients from diverse disciplines.
- Available and willing to work flexible hours to meet project deadlines.
Preferred (Assets, but not required):
- Familiarity with the Incident Command System (ICS).
- Experience designing learning for emergency management, business continuity, or safety training.
- Previous experience working with government, energy, or infrastructure clients.
