What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) position at CCHW Pharmacy?
In-House Pharmacy for a community outpatient mental health and substance use recovery facility.
Competencies: All AGENCY positions are expected to demonstrate competency in the areas of 1) Confidentiality; 2) Cultural Sensitivity; 3) Universal Precautions and 4) Client Rights. Additional competency standards may be required for each position based on the annual plan.
Credentials (Education/Experience/Licenses):The technician must have a high school diploma or GED and pharmacy technician certification. Experience working in retail is preferable.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/JOB DESCRIPTION:
- The technician will process and pre-fill prescriptions for verification by the pharmacist.
- The expectation is that all calls will be handled promptly, politely and professionally.
- The technician must be able to work the cash register at point of sale and complete transactions.
- The person in this position needs to be able to acclimate themselves to a large amount of information quickly.
- The person in this position needs to maintain a pleasant, calm tone of voice in all situations.
- The person in this position needs to be an excellent representative for our organization.
- Crisis management via the telephone is essential.
- Employee must check emails on a daily basis.
- This position will also be responsible for taking messages off the answering machine and calling back clients to handle their needs.
- This position will be responsible for calling insurance companies to obtain pre-authorization for clients’ insurances and completing all required paperwork for incoming clients.
Additionally, due to the nature of the clientele we serve, the technician must be able to maintain composure under stressful conditions and be able to handle conflict and patient complaints.
