Job Summary: This role collaborates with others and works with some autonomy to manipulate small components and assemble precision loaded parts, including handling explosive/energetic powders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Use precision when positioning to achieve throughput levels, reduce errors, eliminate waste and boost productivity
- Maintain accurate records of production data and lot traceability
- Disassemble defective parts or components
- Use calculator and other departmental approved devices as required
- Weigh materials, products, containers, or samples to verify pack weights or ingredient quantities
- Read and follow all written work instructions
- Grade, classify, or sort products according to sizes, weights, colors, or other specifications.
- Use dials and pressure gauges and compare configuration charts
- Inspect work product to identify non-conformances and reject products, materials not meeting specifications.
- Measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments, such as rulers, calipers, pressure gauges, or micrometers.
- Meet established production goals (i.e., maintain 100% throughput, hold scrap to under two percent)
- Monitor calibration of machines and report discrepancies
- Work in a team environment
- Utilize Labor Tracking module/payroll interface each workday multiple times per day
- Promptly communicate assembly problems/challenges to supervisor
- Train/qualify on basic gauges and visual criteria for process-specific Assembler checks
- Maintain the cleanliness of the workspace as a controlled access environment which may involve scheduled housekeeping duties
- Adhere to the team’s meal, break, and rest period schedule to ensure there are no lone workers and to support safe production
- Wear standard-issued uniform, footwear, and personal protective equipment in the designated workspace
- Successfully operate 10 jobs in the ELR (Explosives Load Room) to include loading of powders
- Assist with line coordinating duties
- Cotton clothing required to be worn under issued uniform
- Other duties as assigned

This position requires use of information and data which is subject to US Export Regulations, including but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), 22 C.F.R. 120 et seq., and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), 15 C.F.R. 730 et seq. Minimum Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident Card Holder
- Must pass initial and subsequent background checks
- Must pass preemployment and subsequent drug and alcohol screenings
- Comply with internal non-disclosure agreement requirements
- Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language
- Must be 21 years of age
- 2-years explosives experience
- 2-years assembly experience
- Maintain Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearm and Explosives “Employee Possessor” eligibility
- Pass internal explosives safety training test and maintain annual qualification
- Maintain a State of Colorado Division of Oil and Public Safety Type 1 Explosives handling permit
Physical Requirements:
- RARE: Lifting up to 25 lbs., crawling, climbing ladders/on and off trucks, pulling, squatting, kneeling,
- OCCASIONAL: Carrying, walking, bending, body twisting, stooping,
- FREQUENT: Reaching, range of motion, sense of touch, lifting up to 5lbs., pushing, depth perception, color vision, hand-eye coordination,
- CONTINUOUS: Exposure to inside temperatures as low as 62 degrees, sitting, manual dexterity, repetitive motion, gripping, speak clearly, hearing speech-range
- VISION: Near vision including clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less to work with small objects or read small/fine print, including use of computers. Normal color vision required.
The work hours for this position are Monday - Thursday, 7 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
In addition to the hourly rate, this non-exempt position is eligible to receive a $5.00/hour shift differential specific to time worked exclusively in the ELR.
There are two open positions for this role and they will remain open through March 9, 2025. Current employees are expected to be promoted into these roles.
